Palisades Zoysia is a wonderful addition to any garden. It can withstand heavy foot traffic and uses less irrigation than other turf types. Suitable for your whole lawn, whether in direct sunlight or shade and particularly if your lawn requires hardy grass.

Palisades Zoysia is known for its high cultivation rate, making it a "friendly" grass. Palisades is a moderate to coarse textured turf with a low moisture demand and resistance to shade. It's a high-density turf that's ideal for residential lawns. Palisades has proved to be an outstanding low-maintenance landscape turf.

It has become valuable when there is a need to fix shady areas in the landscape due to its low sunlight parameters.  It has a reasonable amount of salt tolerance. Palisades is well known for its potential to thrive in shady lawns or areas, as well as its drought resistance and quick recovery time, making it a grass that can handle a lot of foot traffic.

Palisades Zoysia is a moderate wide textured high-density turf perfect for residential lawns, golf fairways and roughs, public parks, business estates, and roadway traffic signals. It is grown vegetatively rather than cultivated from seed. Palisades is known for its resistance to shade and minimal irrigation use. Palisades come in a variety of forms, including sprigs, plugs, and solid sod. It has low irrigation requirements, requiring only 1-2 deep irrigation per month during dry spells. In Texas and other states, this product is protected by an exclusive license agreement. 

Palisades Zoysia grass Maintenance

To prevent drying out, new Palisades Zoysia should be watered regularly and thoroughly soaked to a depth of 3 inches for the first 2 weeks. Then, for the next 2 weeks, or until the lawn is grown, decrease the volume of water while maintaining the regular frequency. Watering requirements will vary depending on the nature of soil available once it has been formed. Watering heavily every few days rather than gently every day is the best way to imitate the climate. For sandy soils, 3/4 inch of water will provide enough water for the soil and allow percolation. For thicker sandy soils, you can water up to two inches below the point of water saturation.

The Palisade Zoysia appears to be a popular choice among homeowners. The point about the Zoysia here is that when people visit shop centers, they see all these grass plots out front. But we have to admit that the Palisades Zoysia is generally the first one that visitors walk over to, whether it is because it's the really magnificent grass or because it just looks quite distinctive If it wasn't quite costly than St. Augustine and Bermuda grasses, it's likely the one that everybody will like. So I suppose that's the only disadvantage I can think of with the Palisade Zoysia. Palisades Zoysia is said to remind people of the fescues and Kentucky Bluegrass they're used to do when they come to Houston from the north. Rather than making runners like Bermuda grasses, it rises outright, and the hardness, density, and overall appearance are very similar to those grasses.

Palisades Zoysia grass Problems

Brown patch is the most common zoysia grass illness, resulting in zoysia grass patches dying off. These dead grass patches begin out slow but in hot weather, they can rapidly spread. The distinctive brown ring that surrounds a green core distinguishes this zoysia disease. Although the brown patch fungus cannot be eradicated, it is possible to keep it under control by limiting its presence. Wait until all the dew has evaporated before watering. For additional control, there are fungicides that can be used.
