Trichodynia is condition of scalp in which patient feels pain, itching and burning sensation in scalp. It is also termed as burning scalp syndrome. It commonly occurs in females as compared to men. It is estimated that in women, trichodynia occurs three times more as compared to men. Trichodynia is associated with the nerves of scalp connected to nervous system. These nerves carry signals to control center and brain response to pain. It has a close relationship with hair loss. The nerves involved in trichodynia, are extremely sensitive nerves.
